Funny Pool story for ya...

We finally went to the Scera pool yesterday for the first time this year (opening day... we love that place). The kids did so well! Brynley would hold on to my fingers in water about chest high. She'd jump up and down a few times then dunk herself, look around for a while underwater and pop back up laughing. It was awesome! I was so proud of her.

Caleb did great, too. At the end of last summer he would count to three then go under the water and float and look around. Yesterday he did that and then started kicking. Pretty soon he was using his arms too and full on swimming! I was so proud of him! He said the funniest thing though. After a while he would just kick once and then float. So Brandon's mom and I said "Caleb count four kicks. Try to kick four times and then you can stop", trying to get him to kick more. He tried once then stopped and came up cracking up laughing. He did it two more times and was dying laughing. We were like, "what's so funny?" And he goes "I can't talk under there." We died laughing. He doesn't know how to count in his head so he was trying to count his kicks out loud! Then he tried again and we could here "one, (mixed with bubbles), two..." Brandon's mom and I were laughing so hard and he goes "what's so funny? You try talking under there!" It was so hilarious!

Tyler and Kristi Brown

This post is for those of you from my high school days. Tyler and his wife, Kristi, were up here this weekend. They came over to my parents house for sunday dinner and then they came over to our house for a couple hours on Tuesday. We had so much fun! Caleb and Adam were like long lost bff's. They got along so well and never fought once (which is huge for three year olds). Even Brynley loved "Addie". I had so much fun reconnecting with Tyler and getting to know Kristi better. I really wish we lived closer to them because I think our families could be great friends!

And the furry surprise guest is...

Caleb was invited to his friend, Jace's, birthday party. On the invitation it said that a furry, surprise guest was coming. We were so excited when we saw that it was...

Cosmo!!!! We were so excited. Caleb and Brynley loved him and followed him around the whole time. He played games with the kids and then went out and played at the park with them. It was so incredibly fun. No one's going to be topping that birthday party!

Thanks but no thanks.

I'm trying to update more regularly and just include random stories from our day to day lives. So, here's a funny one for ya. I'm at the gym today lifting and the manager of the trainers comes up to me and asks me if I'll train for him. I was like "ummm..." and he goes "you know, work for me; train people". Like i didn't know what he was talking about. I didn't know what to say so i just said "i've got two little kids so I don't think that would work out." Ha ha! Yeah, no thanks.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there! I had a superb mom's day. It all started with the fam letting me sleep in (until 7am... that's sleeping in around here). Then at 7am caleb ran in with my presents begging me to open them. Caleb got me some weight lifting gloves (yes, i used to make fun of those people at the gym too but the hands were starting to hurt too bad so i'm excited) and Brandon and Brynley each got me a shoe rack. A shoe rack, what am I gonna do with a shoe rack? I don't even own A shoe let alone many shoes that would necessitate an entire rack. What am I going to do with a shoe rack? Ok, just kidding. I actually own lots of shoes that's apparently why I got two shoe racks. If I don't need both I get to pocket 20 bucks. We'll see what happens. I am excited to get those babies organized though. Moving along. I then get served a fabulous breakfast of gourmet crepes by my wonderful crepe cooking husband. We proceed to church where I get to play the piano whilst the children sing to their mommies, then help Caleb present his 2nd talk in two weeks in primary, accompany the primary kids on the piano, then paraphrase a story in RS. Ok, so i didn't really do that last one but i was asked to and prepared it but then she asked someone else... it's a long story. So, we had a nice busy time at church.

I'll make a new paragraph here... just for a break for the eyes. After lunch I got to take a nap! I love naps. Then we went to my parents house for dinner. It was mother's day for three of us and kelly's fiance, Roger's, birthday. We had quite the celebration. Salmon, potatoes, salad, fruit with berry rhubarb crisp for dessert. Yum. I make all the desserts by the way. I'm very good at that if you didn't already know. ;-)

Anyway, we bring ourselves to the present. Where I am about to settle myself in front of the tv to watch Desperate Housewives. I hope you've all enjoyed my minute by minute rendition of mother's day. I leave you with this deep thought from Caleb regarding mothers day.

Caleb: "Mom, we poop and pee on Mother's Day."
Me: "Yes, Caleb we do."

Happy Mother's Day

I know, I know...

Ok, I know, I really need to update the blog. I don't have any pictures though but I guess that's ok. And I'm not that funny like Katrina and Courtney. And nothing new has really been going on. So, that's why I haven't updated. But... I'm sure I can think of something to say.

My sister got engaged a couple weeks ago for those of you who know my family. She is getting married in the Timpanogos Temple on July 11. They'll have a reception in Utah and one in Arizona where her fiance, Roger, is from. They're honeymoon is going to be a cruise to the Western Caribbean. Spoiled, I know. :-) I'm helping them do the research and plan their trip and it's a lot of fun! Makes me excited for our cruise we're going on in November!

The weather here has been great. We've been going to the park almost everyday. I've been reading more lately so I just bring a book and let the kids play for hours on end.

Caleb's really into games lately. I mean real games. Like scrabble, monopoly, pick up sticks, guess who etc. My favorite is guess who. I really actually love that game. Oh, he wants to play Mastermind now so I better go teach him how.

I promise I'll update more often!
