Hair cuts and Trauma

This morning I had a little "mom freak out" incident. Brandon got Brynley up this morning and brought her into the kitchen. She was holding her bear (aka beah) in one hand and her milk in the other hand. I was toasting a waffle for Caleb so I broke off a bite to give her. Fully expecting her to drop her bear for the waffle (she loves waffles) I was surprised when she didn't. I looked down and realized her hand wasn't actually holding her bear; her bear was somehow stuck to her arm. I knelt down to look and realized that the ribbon that goes around the bear's neck was also around her wrist and was twisted quite a few times. Her hand was three times as big as the other one and purple. I think it may have been numb because she didn't start crying until I starting untwisting the ribbon. Then she freaked. And of course, I freaked. I started rubbing it thinking it would help the circulation (who knows) and I called my dad, woke him up and don't even remember what he said because Brynley was hysterical and I was freaking out. I tried holding ice on it but you can imagine how that went over with a 20 month old. The color came back to her hand fairly quickly but it was still puffy as of tonight. Here's a picture. It's kind of hard to tell in the picture. It still looks like a baby hand, all puffy and fat.

We did have a great haircut experience this morning though. Caleb was such a good boy getting his haircut. He used to kick and scream and need to be restrained. This was only 6 months ago. He's gotten better each time and today I didn't even need to stay near him in the salon. I was chasing Brynley around the room and he sat in the chair by himself like a big boy. I was so proud!

I can't believe how big your kids are! Brynley looks just like you. Kellly told me she looks just like her baby pictures. She stinkin' cute, I'd claim her too! This is Stacy by the way :)
