Aubrey had the casting done for her helmet today. It was sad. First they had to put some nylons over her head. On top of that they had to wrap the sticky stuff. I don't know what it's called. He had to mold it to her head for about 2 minutes while it hardened and then he cut it off. It was a quick process but she definately didn't love it. At the end Brynley said: "Mom, Aubrey was not good." I said, "Yes she was, she just got a little sad." These pictures are funny because you can see her getting progressively more sad.
She has the fitting next Friday assuming it has come in from the lab by then. I'll post good pictures of her head before she starts wearing the helmet.

Our busy weekend...
On Friday night Brandon and I went rock climbing at the quarry. It was so much fun! I had never been before. Brandon wasn't embarassed of me so I don't think I did too bad.
Saturday morning we woke up and went to great grandma's for an Easter Egg Hunt. They saw the easter bunny and played a few games. My sister in law, Angie's, grandma lives in the same place so the kids get to see their cousins also when they go to activities at great grandma's.
Caleb and his cousin Collin
Brynley and her cousin Abby
This was right after I said, "Smile, or you don't get to open any of your eggs."
Saturday afternoon we decided to go scope out some trails for running and mountain biking. I wouldn't say we went hiking, perse, but we went walking on trails for a while and played in the "jungle". Then we got slurpies at 7-11! It was a really fun weekend!

Aubrey's New Accessory
We found out yesterday that Aubrey is going to be sporting one these for the next few months. This is quite possibly the most expensive baby accessory on the planet. In fact, I'm sure of it. They measured her diagonally across her head and compared the two measurements. If they are more than 6 mm different they reccomend a helmet. She was off by 13 mm. So, more than double. The ratio of the length of her head to the width was also way off from average. Her head basically cliffs off in the back. I had a hard time with the idea at first but I'm over it and ok with it now. I'll have to do something cute to it. Not sure what. I'm thinking maybe some vinyl stickers that look like a headband? I don't know how that would look. I've seen lots of boy helmets where they make it look like a football helmet. Has anyone seen any cute girl ideas?
Want to know how I'm saving tons of money right now?
Anyone with a baby really needs to do this. I'm not sure why I didn't do this back when we were super poor students because it is so easy.
I make my own baby food! Here's how to do it in a nut shell.
Buy a package of frozen or fresh veggies. (I haven't tried fruit yet but i'm sure it'd be the same minus the cooking part). Cook it until they're very soft. Throw them in the blender with some water and blend until they are the right consistency for your baby. Pour into ice cube trays and freeze. Plop into baggies. I put about three servings into each baggie and just thaw one baggie at a time. I use that food for the next couple meals. It sounds like it would take a long time but it really doesn't. Trust me, I'm busy too and if I can do it, so can you! Here's how the money savings looks: I paid $1 for a huge bag of frozen peas. It made about 16 servings. You'll pay 50 cents each for the jars of baby food.
These are actually carrots from our garden last year that I canned. During the canning process they got way soft so they're turning into baby food. I am such a good mom.
She's happy when mommy saves money. And I'm happy too, since I'm going to be spending so much on her stinking new hat.

It was a fun saturday...
Yesterday Brynley got to go to her best friends birthday party! It was a princess party and she loved it! The did make up, played games and did cake and presents. Doesn't she look so beautiful with make up on? ;-)
We didn't want Caleb to feel left out so Brandon took Caleb miniaturing golfing (his first time! Caleb's... not Brandon's) and then for ice cream. At Baskin Robbins Caleb got some cake frosting flavor. Isn't that such a kid flavor of ice cream? It's right up there with bubble gum ice cream. Anyway, they had a great Father and Son time. Caleb was looking forward to it all week. In fact, when he woke up that morning he ran into our room and yelled, "Daddy, are you ready to rock and roll today?!"
I think his face is so funny in this picture:
Just so I didn't feel left out of the action, Brandon and I went to lunch afterwards at a Thai place by our house. It was so good! Loved it!
Anyway, there's a little taste of our fun Saturday!

Fit Eats
I want you guys to all check out my new website called Fit Eats. It is a blog devoted to "fitness food". In my mind, fitness food means creative and yummy protein shakes, low carb or low sugar concoctions along with healthy everyday meals. I will be featuring a different recipe every day of the week with workout tips on the weekends. I am not doing this because I think I am a good cook. I'll be first to tell you I'm not a "good cook". I do think I am a creative cook though especially when it comes to fitness type food which usually includes one or all of the following, oats, peanut butter, protein powder, peanut butter, cocoa, peanut butter... did I mention peanut butter? I will also be personalizing it with info about what I'm up to and lots of pictures! I hope you'll all come check it out and put it on your google readers and check back often. Could you also do me a favor? If you like it will you tell all your friends about it? Or put a link to it on your blog? The ultimate goal is for this to get big so that I can do giveaways and fun things like that! And one more favor, if you do check it, would you leave comments? I need to know that people are reading it so that I am motivated to keep it going.
This is still in the works so the entire site is not completely up yet. But, I've already put some great recipes up that I don't want anyone to miss out on! Let me know if there's anything you'd like to see or if you have any other ideas for me!

Aubrey is 6 months old today!
Aubrey is 6 months old today! She is such a good baby. Let me give you a little information about her:
-She eats rice cereal, oatmeal and peas so far. We are planning on introducing green beans tomorrow, then carrots and probobly on to fruits.
-She takes two good naps lasting anywhere from 1-3 hours. She's pretty regular and text book taking one around 9:30am and the other starting between 12 and 2pm sometime.
-She goes to bed between 6:30 and 7:00pm and sleeps until about 7 or 7:30am. She does still wake up 1-2 in the night which we are starting to work on. Every once in a while we'll wake up in the morning wondering if the other one got up in the night to feed her, only to realize she slept all night! I wish those days happened more often than they do but she'll get better in time.
-She loves both of her siblings, but she simply adores her brother! And he loves her too. She lights up when he talks to her and he loves to play with her and make faces and cute noises to her.
-She can sit well supported and can last for a little while unsupported. She is by far my earliest sitter!
-She still doesn't roll, but I'm not allowed to lay her on her back much because of her flat head so she doesn't have much play time on the ground. That's my excuse...
-She is 17 1/2 pounds (80th %) and 27 inches (90th %).
She is such a good, happy little baby and we love her so much. I can't believe how fast she is growing. It is crazy to me. I don't feel like my other two grew up this fast. Time is just flying. I can't believe it. Anyway, here are some pictures of my little 6 month cutie!

Cute videos
Aubrey started blowing raspberries while I was feeding her yesterday. I knew this day would come. While it is so annoying and messy, it is so stinkin cute too!
Here is a video of Brynley singing the song they are doing at her dance recital. It is SO cute! Watch it. You won't be dissapointed.

Update
Oh, where to begin. I haven't blogged in forever and need to catch up! Here we go:
Aubrey takes on the rice cereal
I started feeding it to her when she was a little over 5 months (just a couple weeks ago). She is loving it now and does this cute little breathing thing like a dog panting with her mouth open when she's ready for another bite. It's so cute.
Braids
I am not good at hair. I can't do any cool styles or anything. I can barely even round brush my own hair. So when I saw this style in the People Style magazine and was able to do it on myself I was so excited!
I was even more excited that Brynley wanted me to do this to her hair when I was done:
Lastly, look at how much these two love each other. They are so cute together. Aubrey just lights up when Caleb talks to her and he absolutely adores her!
