Writing and drawing skills

Last week Caleb wanted to draw our family with our names written next to each of us on a piece of paper. It has become painfully obvious, that while Caleb is a pretty bright kid and can read well and is learning simple math pretty easily, he has the artistic skill of, well, his father. This includes his penmanship.

When Lindsey first showed me what he had done, I thought, "oh no, what has he heard us talking about?" Then I thought, "what is he hearing from kids at school?" At last it hit me, "oh good, he has the artistic ability of a drunken gamecock with a pen tied to its talons". And yes, the chicken does have large talons, so no jokes about that.

If you don't see what I'm referring to specifically, look closely at the bottom right corner.

Yep, he totally spelled my name wrong.

Edit by Lindsey: If you can see the line above it says "lind" then the line below says "seY". While Brandon's name is spelled "Brandin". I think it's a cute picture, still pretty funny. Pretty good since no one helped him at all.

School picture

I can't believe how old Caleb looks in his first official school picture. We were so happy that he actually gave a good smile because he wouldn't when Lindsey asked him to practice before picture day. What a handsome boy.

I like how the top button is buttoned too. As if to say, "Hey Vato. ¿Don chu know I'm loco en la cabeza?" They told us he was flashing Vatos Locos signs, but they wouldn't allow that in the picture.

Smiley Aubrey

Aubrey is 8 weeks old! She is such a wonderful baby! She has started smiling and cooing and we love it. Here are some cute pictures of her.

She weighed 10lbs 4 oz and was 22 1/2 inches at her apt. She is in the 42% for weight and 63% for height. Her head was in the 4th percentile. Pretty typical stats for our family.

Lastly, check out this attitude:

Asuka, we loved it!

We went to Asuka last weekend with my family. The kids loved watching them cook the food at our table. Here are a few pictures from the evening. (Brynley LOVED the salad. It was too funny).

Halloween

The kids loved today. I overheard Caleb telling his friend yesterday that he was so excited for Halloween and how he's been waiting for this day all year. Cute kid. Caleb was a vampire and Brynley was Cinderella. Brynley basically looked like she did every other day of the year since all she ever wears is princess dresses anyway, but that's ok.

We went to trunk or treating at the church and the kids loved being able to see their friends in their costumes. Brynley even saw ... are you ready for this ... SNOW WHITE! She was a little nervous at first but that was all she talked about for the rest of the night. I can't wait to get this girl to Disneyland. After trunk or treating we went trick or treating around the block. Our friend pointed out to us that this is "double dipping" in the neighborhood. Oh well.
Here's our vampire and immodest little Cinderella

Cute little cow.

Pretty good snow white, huh?

This was my halloween treat. An apple dipped in Costco's Saigon cinnamon. This is the best cinnamon EVER! I am proud to say I didn't even touch a BITE of the kids candy! Go me!

Aubrey's Blessing

We blessed Aubrey today. It was such a wonderful day. We had everyone from both sides of our family there. It was the best. The blessing was so nice. The circle included Daddy, both Grandpas, Uncle Dane, Uncle Roger, Uncle Jordan, Uncle Jeremy and Bishop Clay.

After the blessing we all went over to the clubhouse and had lunch. It was so fun to hang out with everyone who came in from out of town and to have everyone together. Thank you to all who came. You made it a wonderful day!

I wanted a pictures of me and my kiddos but Brynley wouldn't come. The stinker.

This is her favorite place besides in someone's arms.
