How a Two Year Old Plays

Easter 2011

We had a great Easter this year. Aubrey was so much fun and loved getting into all the festivities. Saturday morning started with a Ward Easter Egg Hunt at the park. The kids love this because they get to do it with all their friends.

Saturday afternoon we colored eggs. Every time we took an egg out of the dye Aubrey would say, "(Sharp intake of breath) Blue!" or whatever color the egg was. She had equal amounts of excitement for the very first egg and the very last egg.

Sunday they woke up to the treasure hunt to find their Easter Baskets. When Aubrey saw hers she said, "(Sharp intake of breath) THAT'S for ME!?" (said in a voice higher and squeakier than I can imitate.

They all loved their baskets.

After church we went to my parents house with our friends the Nye's. We had a great Easter dinner and another fun egg hunt. With 5 kids searching for 10 real eggs and 10 plastic eggs each we hid 100 eggs in their backyard! It didn't take too long though.

We had a great Easter and hope you all did to. We tried hard to teach our kids about the Resurrection and why we celebrate Easter. We are so thankful for life and resurrection of Christ.
Happy Easter!

I downloaded this app to see if I could add pictures from my phone to the blog easier. Let's see if this works.

RAD Kids and Trip to the farm

Today was a busy day for Caleb at school. First we visited Harward Farms for his field trip. Aubrey and I came along and it was a lot of fun.

Then tonight he had RAD kids graduation. RAD kids is a nationwide program that teaches kids safety and self defense. It was pretty cool, actually. It taught them what to do if an adult came up a said "Hey, little boy, your mom told me to come pick you up from school today." They yell "NO!" and sucker punch them and run away as fast as they can. Ok maybe not really. But something along those lines. They learned different punches and kicks and stuff like that. They each had to get away from a bad guy tonight too. Bad guy = cop dressed up tons of padding so he looks kind of like Darth Vader.
